Country #53

Grand and imposing,
In the middle of Europe,
East and West combined.

In 2014, I started a Baltic tour after spending a few days in Warsaw. My enduring memory, visually, is of these huge, grand, grey buildings - public buildings mostly, like universities and museums. They are quite incredible, and real demonstrations of imposing strength. As expected, Poland has a real mixture of East and West Europe, often depending on the architecture and the type of neighbourhood that you're in. I enjoyed the Chopin museum, and also strolling along some of the old cobbled streets of the 'nice' parts of the city at nighttime.
