Country #16

Lederhosen, and
Driving through the Black Forest,
Eating creamy things.

When I was about 10 or so, I went on a family holiday to the South-West of Germany. I think we drove there all the way from Hertfordshire, UK.

I recall some very hearty countryside and hearty meals, with plenty of schwarzwälder kirschtorte (black forest gateau) along the way. I think we visited Freiburg, Baden-Baden, Garmisch-Partenkirchen, and then a bunch of other places in the Black Forest area. In hindsight, it all seems very... German. For want of a better word. I should go and explore some more of the country, for sure.
