Country #47

Europe and Asia,
Old mixed with new, delicate,
A distinct fusion.

In January 2014, a few friends from my Masters degree decided to have a mini-reunion in Istanbul. It was a fantastic idea, and a really enjoyable long weekend.

From the political hotspot of Taksim Square, to the absolutely stunning Blue Mosque, mixed with the views over the Bosphorus, Istanbul is visually wonderful. It also has a lively and almost mysterious vibe, perhaps something to do with the political situation at the time, but it felt like there was something interesting in the air. My friends and I particularly enjoyed going for coffee, a boat ride on the river, delicious Turkish food, and of course each other's company.
