South Korea

Country #70

From rags to riches,
Humble, proud society,
With Seoul as its soul.

In December 2015, I made a 2-day stopover in Seoul while flying back to the UK from Vanuatu. My instinctive reactions to being in Seoul were to compare it to Tokyo. Seoul definitely doesn't have the wow-factor that Tokyo has, but it is nevertheless a diverse, sprawling, and exciting city. Fortunately, I had a Korean friend who lived in Seoul, and I met up with him for delicious Korean dinner and a trip up the cable car to the Namsan Tower which overlooks the city and offers fantastic views. It was much colder than I had packed clothes for, so I was pretty chilly, but it was a fun couple of days.
